- ENG 111 – 3:30 to 4:45 Tuesdays and Thursdays
- August 21 through December 12, 2001
- Professor: G. Morris
- My Grade: A
- My take on the course:
Well, I like English so it wasn’t so bad. We learned some grammar stuff which was good because people in general no good at grammars… And some things about our language just don’t make sense. Professor Morris is a funny old guy and he didn’t try to kill us with assignments like many ENG 111 teachers do…which is great because after all, it’s a basic English class that everyone in the world has to take. A lot of the time he assigned short stories for us to read before class. I usually forgot and so did everyone else, which naturally did not make the professor happy but he didn’t usually spring pop quizzes on us. We had to write a total of 4 – count ‘em, four – papers and that was pretty much all the work ENG 111 involved. Learning about grammar got really, really boring at times but has no doubt come in useful more than I’d care to admit. Other than that, this is exactly what you’d expect from a ‘College 101′ type of class: lots of people have to take it, nobody really wants to, it’s not bad if you get a sensible professor.
